1. What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your appointment, we respectfully request at least 48-hour notice.
Any initial cancellation or reschedule (barring impending severe weather) made within less than a 48-hour timeframe will result in the loss of the booking retainer and 25% of the expected service total.
If you are more than 10 minutes late for your service, we will subtract that time from your appointment block & add a $10 fee. We require a credit card on file and a booking retainer to hold your appointment. Any additional cancellation fees will be charged to your card on file.
In the event of a true, unavoidable emergency, all or part of your cancellation fee may be applied to future services.
However, if an appointment is cancelled outside of severe weather (and all other indoor photography accommodations are deemed impossible) or severe illness, the initial booking fee is retained and 25% of the expected service total. If the appointment is rescheduled but cancelled a second time, 50% of the full session fee is required via the credit card on file. If the stylist experiences a true, unavoidable emergency and cannot service you for the appointment, the full booking fee will be promptly returned and all attempts made to refer you to another trusted local stylist.
2. How should I come prepared for my appointment?
We request a clean, moisturized, makeup-free face and clean, dry, product-free hair and suggest that you bring along inspiration photos of your desired style for us to review when you arrive!
3. What is required to formally book your services for my wedding date?
A signed contract and a deposit! Then, we’ll send you an email to confirm your booking.
4. How much is the deposit?
It is $500 and deducted from the total day-of payment.
5. When should I schedule my bridal hair & makeup trial?
You should schedule the trial 2-3 months prior to your wedding date but begin looking at suitable dates for you and the stylist at the time of booking. We typically schedule single appointments several weeks in advance. Weekend appointments are off-limits due to weddings, but we can work with most weekdays and occasionally a Sunday afternoon, and be sure to plan for 2-2.5hrs-worth of time to be with us!
6. When do you require final numbers of services expected?
We require final numbers of people wanting hair & makeup services at least 3 months in advance of the wedding date as that is the very latest we can attempt to book additional assistants. Numbers given on the invoice at the time of contract signing are final unless additions (not subtractions) are made before the 3-month deadline and additional stylists/flexible timing is available. We highly stress gathering final numbers at the timing of booking to secure staffing as anything past that point is not guaranteed.
7. Do you create a timeline for hair & makeup services on the wedding day?
We do not create or encourage creation of minute-by-minute timelines as hair and makeup is subjective to each client’s style or hair length. Many times by the time a specific bridesmaid's appointment slot is ready, she’s in the bathroom, running late, or has to put her contacts in, and the slot ends up getting switched out with someone else who is immediately available which instantly botches the carefully designed timeline. We complete services back-to-back, no down-time, so we are steadily styling ladies one after the other to keep the day running seamlessly!
The bridesmaids typically begin, then the bride, followed by mothers, and lastly flower girls, and everyone should be ready to go at whatever time the bride requests and stylists verify.
8. What do I bring to a bridal trial or generic appointment?
For brides, you will want to bring along any clip-in hair extensions, veils, hair accessories/combs, fiber fillers, etc. you plan to utilize in your day-of look! We encourage brides to wear a white or cream top to simulate a wedding dress shade. For generic hair & makeup appointments, you will want to wear a low- to no-collar button-up or wide-neck shirt you can easily pull over your head if you need to change clothes for your event. You may also bring along 1 guest (mother, friend, sister, etc) to watch as well if they would like to be a part of the process.
9. What if I want to wait to book with you until after I have my bridal trial?
We do not take non-client bridal trials. In order to have a bridal trial scheduled with us, you must be a booked client.
10. Do you offer just eye makeup or just foundation application options?
No, we do not. A half-face doesn’t fully reflect a professional’s work, and our clients deserve to experience professional, luxury services from start to finish!
11. Do you offer group rates or discounts?
We offer 5% off for active military service members.
12. Do you sanitize brushes in-between each client?
We are firm believers in excellent sanitation standards and maintain pristine conditions in our kits. We use new and/or freshly cleaned brushes in-between clients and sanitize on-site, only apply liquid product directly to our hands and never straight from the container, and use disposable applicators.
13. What do my bridesmaids need to have ready for you on the day-of?
They should be on-time or preferably early to the start time set by the bride/wedding planner and our team. Please arrive with dry, product-free hair (day-old hair is best) and a bare, moisturized face (clear of any leftover makeup from the night before). We’d also love to see photos of what they’d like to have done for their beauty service, so having screenshots or a Pinterest board of styles is ideal.
14. Do you do blowouts for wet hair?
No, we do not, and a fee is added for unexpected wet or damp hair.
15. Can I schedule my bridal trial the same day my bridal portrait/dress fitting?
Of course! We think that’s a great idea, and we’ll try to work with you on timing.
16. How far do you travel for weddings?
We work within a 2.5-hour radius max of Richmond for a day, but we'll happily travel further! Destination services will warrant overnight lodging and flight costs to be covered.
17. What is your travel fee?
The fee is $0.70/mile from the home studio.
18. How many assistants will you bring?
That depends on the amount of services performed for both hair and makeup. We average 7-8 services per stylist with a minimum of 6 required.
19. Do you have any additional fees (assistants, travel, booking, etc)?
All add-ons are listed at the bottom of our pricing guides.
20. What types of products do you use?
We use a wide range of products, ones that have been heavily researched and tested prior to purchase known for their durability, health benefits, and color payoff. For makeup, we use professional brands such as Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Smashbox, Urban Decay, MAC, Tarte, MakeUp Forever, etc. to name a few. For hair, we employ products like Kenra, WOW, BigSexy Hair, Design.Me, Moroccan Oil, etc. We're always adding to and revamping our collection to keep up with new lines and provide our clients with only the best of the best!
