Highlighting is my favorite. There – I said it! I love shimmer, sparkle, and light, so naturally, I’m attracted to anything that glimmers, and a good highlighter does just that! The purpose of highlighting is to bring forward and accentuate bone structure, a pleasant feature, or to add an ethereal glow to the face (or body)! You can place it on cheekbones, brow bones, the lip’s cupid’s bow, the tip of the nose, and the rounded part of your chin. Here are a few snapshots of the best in the business in my personal opinion:

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish “Lightscapade” – $32

Such a stunning iridescent powder highlighter that mesmerizes just by opening the package – look at that swirl of shimmers! This looks so beautiful on small surfaces like the cupid’s bow or tip of the nose.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Block “Pink Quartz” – $46

The most perfect highlighter ever made! This shade blends flawlessly with any skin-tone and is the glittering crown jewel of a flushed cheekbone.

Benefit Cosmetics “Highbeam” – $26

Turn up the wattage with this little power puncher! With its tiny brush wand, “Highbeam” is applied with your fingers tip on-the-go and at home and instantly pops features with a tap or two of liquid light.

I plan to test several more highlighters out like Josie Maran Argan Enlightenment Illuminizer and NARS The Multiple in Copacabana this year, so stay tuned for more gushing reviews!
