A Foundation for All Seasons

"The foundation stones for a balanced success are honesty, character, integrity, faith, love and loyalty." - Zig Ziglar

Yes, it’s a play-on-words from that 1966 film classic “A Man for All Seasons”, but truly, Face Atelier‘s versatile foundation deserves an equally classic title. Used on film sets such as “Blacklist” & “Criminal Minds” to Broadway’s “On the Town” to daily news television like ABC, CBS, & CNN to fashion magazines, namely Vogue & Bazaar, Face Atelier is slowly making a name for itself with its fine quality products and compact, simplistic packaging

I first came across the brand when I attended The Makeup Show NYC last year and stopped to stare in awe at the posters of all the TV shows their products had been showcased on lined up neatly at their booth. They certainly know how to attract film enthusiasts doubling as MUAs! The reps very kindly showed me the products and explained their brand, and when I said “sign me up!” but only wanted to purchase 6 shades to mix and use on every skin type, they accepted the challenge and set me up with 6 lovely colors and two “adjusters”. Their adjusters are like black and white paint; they darken and lighten any shade. There is a purely white one (0-) and a very dark ebony, not black, one (0++) that you can add, drop by drop to “adjust” a shade. You can also purchase a clear liquid aide to transform all of the foundations into an airbrush foundation, thin enough to glide effortlessly through your airbrush gun! Pure genius! The foundation is already silicone-based with a built-in primer so it is extremely durable and lightweight in liquid form.

Not only is their product worth testing out, but their philosophy is worth believing in. I love this quote found on their website: “Who is the Face Atelier woman? She’s any woman, aged 19 to 90. Color refers to her favorite shade of lipstick, not her skin tone. She wants to look and feel her best, and knows that makeup is one of the many tools women have to accomplish that goal.” How true is that? Women search for makeup to enhance features and boost confidence, not JUST to conceal and adjust.

Have you tried Face Atelier, and if so, what were your thoughts? If not, use these pointers to make an informed decision when investing in your next foundation purchase!
